15 & 16/11/08 - Scottish Junior Inter-Regional Tournament

The cream of Scottish Junior Squash were all in action at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh last weekend. Six regions took part in the team event in 5 age categories ranging from under 11 to under 19. The Highlands & Islands Squash Association Squad punched well above their weight by winning 2 of the five events.

The full squad of 28 juniors were sponsored by Fujitsu and had players from Stornoway, Wick, Thurso, Fort William and Inverness. Selection events to pick the teams were held in Inverness, Wick and Thurso and competition for places was very encouraging. The teams consisted of 4 players with two reserves one of which had to be a girl.

Victory in the Under 13 and Under 17 events ensured this would be the best ever performance by the Association and confirms the high standard of junior Squash in the Highlands & Islands.

- SUMMER SQUASH CAMPS 2010

These Camps will run for 3 weeks during the school holidays and players should choose which week most suits their ability. Most of the activity will be Squash related but there will also be strength and conditioning sessions and other group activities.
The sessions will run from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. each day and lunch is included.
